Art & Beautiful Things

Artist ceramist Ugo Zaccagnini studied at the Scuola di Disegno Industriale in Sesto Fiorentino. Until 1891 he worked as a sculptor and modeller in the Richard-Ginori ceramics factory in Sesto Fiorentino. After that, he worked several years as a freelancer, before in 1896 he started a business with colleagues. The business was called S.I.F.M.A. and located in Florence.

In 1905 he opened his own factory under the name ‘Ugo Zaccagnini e Figli’ with headquarters in Florence, producing ceramics in the traditional and the Liberty style.
