Art & Beautiful Things

This water pitcher, produced by Westinghouse, dates from the Art Deco period (1920s–1940s) and features a distinctive lettuce green glass finish. Westinghouse, primarily known for electrical appliances, also manufactured elegant glassware that combined utility with style during the early 20th century.

The pitcher is molded from durable ceramic and exhibits clean geometric lines typical of Art Deco design. Its form and color were designed to complement mid-century kitchen and dining aesthetics, while still being functional for everyday use. The piece reflects the American design trends of the period, emphasizing symmetry, streamlined forms, and subtle decorative appeal.

Collectors value this Westinghouse piece for its historical significance and attractive coloration. Lettuce green is a classic collectible color among vintage glassware enthusiasts, and pieces in excellent condition are increasingly rare. This pitcher is fully intact with no chips or cracks, maintaining both its decorative and functional value.

Ideal for display in a vintage kitchen collection or as part of an Art Deco glassware set, this Westinghouse pitcher embodies early American design, craftsmanship, and style.

Our Condition Rating

Excellent – We almost never rate anything as excellent because to us, excellent means brand new and still in packaging. If we’ve only removed it from the box for photography, it still receives a "very good" rating.

Very Good – This is where most of our items fall. To us, this means as close to excellent as possible: museum-quality, with no imperfections unless noted (and even then, only very minor ones).

Good – Acceptable. Worth owning, especially if it’s difficult to find in better condition.

Fair – Rough condition. Only rated fair if the item has substantial historical value or is salvage-worthy.
