Vintage 1950s Spincraft Gold-Lite Electric Christmas Tree Stand Original Box

Wonderful vintage Spincraft “Gold-Lite” electric Christmas tree stand, complete with its fantastic original illustrated cardboard box.

Manufactured by Spincraft Incorporated of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this is a terrific piece of mid-century American Christmas history. The large spun-metal stand has a beautiful metallic gold finish with concentric stepped rings giving it the unmistakable streamlined look of the 1950s and early 1960s.

The original box proudly announces:

“NEW ELECTRIC! ‘Gold-Lite’ CHRISTMAS TREE STAND”

The stand incorporates three electrical outlets around the base for connecting Christmas tree lights, along with a heavy electrical cord and an on/off switch. The three substantial threaded eye-bolt adjusters secure the tree trunk within the center reservoir.

Importantly, this is a stationary electric tree stand—it does not rotate. Period documentation for this model describes the Gold-Lite as having three AC outlets while specifically noting that it does not spin or play music.

The box is marked with U.S. Patent No. 2,733,032. That patent, assigned to Spincraft, Inc. of Milwaukee, was granted on January 31, 1956, for a spun-metal Christmas tree stand incorporating a central tree socket/reservoir and adjustable securing screws.

The original box is a major part of the appeal here. Vintage Christmas accessories were often used year after year while their packaging was discarded, making an original boldly graphic carton like this especially desirable for display.

This would be fantastic paired with a mid-century aluminum Christmas tree, vintage ornaments and a color wheel, or incorporated into a serious collection of 1950s and 1960s Christmas décor.

Center opening is approximately 8 inches across at the upper opening.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. Condition is consistent with age and use.

The gold metal finish retains excellent visual presence with scattered scratches, finish wear, marks and areas of discoloration associated with age and previous use. Hardware shows expected oxidation and age.

The original cardboard box is included and shows storage wear, discoloration, edge and corner wear, creasing and other age-related wear, but remains remarkably displayable considering its age.
